Mike Piergrossi

I construct commentaries utilizing recycled items from my existence at home and abroad through collage and paint.  Old clothing, airline tickets, maps, bar receipts, photographs, and drawings are layered within the surfaces of my paintings.  Robert Rauschenberg’s notion that his materials, “were meant to be a record of an immediate environment and time,” is a similar platform from which my process arises. The 'act" of painting, and the intuitive are what I find most seductive about making art.
